Ms. Katy Wogatzke
I am excited to serve the students and families at William Ellis Middle School this year! I have spent time at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in Davie, Forsyth, and Davidson Counties. Davie County is my home, however, so I am excited to work where I live!
The comprehensive school counseling program at William Ellis Middle School follows the NC Essential Standards for Guidance as well as the American School Counseling Association's National Standards for Students. My goal is always to spend 80% of my time in direct service to students and their families. Increasing academic achievement by helping to remove barriers to student learning is my priority.
I serve all students at Ellis Middle School through brief, solution focused counseling sessions as requested by students, teachers, and families to assist with issues impacting students at school. I can also provide referrals to outside counseling agencies for students who require long-term or intensive counseling. Throughout the year I will push in to health and PE classes to work with students on study skills, organization skills, and stress reduction techniques.
Sometimes during the school year I will also see students in a small-group format of 5-6 students experiencing similar struggles or having similar needs. If your student is chosen to participate in a small group you will receive a permission form.
If you ever have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to me by phone or email!
