Powerful teaching and learning is the core component of instruction at the Early College. Students at DCECHS read, write, think, and discuss in every classroom every day. If you walk into one of our classrooms, you will notice that the teachers are just facilitators of learning. The students are the teachers; they use twenty-first-century skills like collaboration, researching, problem-solving, and evaluating sources of information to learn. Students are typically engaged in collaborative group work, writing to learn, literacy groups, questioning, scaffolding, and classroom talk.
