Scholarship opportunities for current Seniors (Class of 2018) will be posted on this site as they come into our office.  Most local scholarship applications will not come available until November or later.  Please check this page often as it is updated frequently.

 Monthly Newsletter

A newsletter is sent out each month with additional scholarship and college information.  Seniors will have an opportunity to put their email and a parent email on the distribution list the first few weeks in September.  If you would like to make sure you are on the list please email your counselor.

Voice of Democracy Scholarship
Deadline:  October 31, 2017
Speech contest open to students in grades 9-12.  In addition to prizes awarded by the VFW, the local VFW (Post 8719) awards prizes to local students.  Your entry should be turned in to Student Serves by October 30.
The theme for 2017 is American History - Our Hope for the Future.

Cheatham-White Scholarship at NCA&T and NCCU
Deadline:  November 1, 2017
Open to students planning to attend either NCA&T or NCCU in the fall of 2018.  Students should have a minimum 4.0 GPA, 1280 SAT, or 28 ACT.

Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
Deadline: November 14, 2017
Open to graduating seniors with at least a 3.5 unweighted GPA, combined ERW & Math SAT score of 1200 and above, or ACT composite score of 26 and above.

Hagan Scholarship
Deadline:  November 15, 2017
Open to graduating seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA, 23 on the ACT, or 1200 on the SAT, who also worked at least 240 house in the 12 months prior to enrolling in college.

NCHSAA Cheerleading Scholarship
Deadline:  November 17, 2017
Open to graduating seniors who are members of the high school cheerleading team who will be participating in the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational, plusmeet additional criteria.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
November 27, 2017
Open to all graduating seniors.  You do not need to be related to member of the Elks to apply.

NC Division of Veterans Affairs Scholarship
Deadline:  December 1, 2017 for Class IA, IB, or IV
February 14, 2018 for Class II or III
Open to students who are the children of qualifying veterans.

The Silver Pen Writing Competition
Deadline:  December 9, 2017
Open to all graduating seniors - no GPA requirements.  Sponsored by Senior Living Comminities.  Students must live within 25 of a participating community.  Davie High's participating community is Homestead Hills in Winston-Salem.  Winners are selected based on the response to an essay question.  This year's prompt:  "
Compare and contrast the influence of technology in your life versus the role of human interaction and mentoring your life. Which had the biggest influence on your personal life goals? Please elaborate in your response."

ACT Student Champions Award
Deadline:  December 1, 2017
Open to graduating seniors planning a career in education who have either a 22 Composite Score or a 3.0 GPA.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship
Deadline:  January 4, 2018
Open to graduating seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA who demonstrate leadership, drive, and integrity.

Honors GradU Scholarship: Design a Better Future
Deadline:  February 11, 2018
Open to all graduating seniors planning to continue their education.  Read the requirements and submit a proposal for how you will better your community.

NCHSAA Scholarships
Deadline:  February 16, 2017
Multiple scholarships available on this site for high school athletes.  There are scholarships specific to wrestlers, lacrosse players, baseball players, female varsity athletes, minority athletes, students who play multiple varsity sports, distinguished athletes.
