Have a safe and happy summer!
Davie County Schools may make the decision to close early, to delay, or to cancel school when winter weather makes driving conditions hazardous or temperatures are too cold to properly operate bus equipment. We will make every reasonable effort to make announcements by 6:00 AM. If a decision can be made in the evening, we will do so. If an announcement is made, it is applicable to those students and staff scheduled to report that day. If no announcement is made, schools will operate on a normal schedule.
To communicate how inclement weather has affected our normal school operation, the SchoolMessenger notification system will be used to announce schedule changes to all parents, students, and staff. SchoolMessenger will begin calling parents and students at 6:00 AM, but it takes some time for the system to call the homes of all students and staff. The message will also be available on the Davie County Schools Message Line [(336) 753-1797 for English; (336) 753-1798 for Spanish]. In addition, announcements will be made on the local radio and television stations listed below and communicated through the Davie County Schools’ website and Facebook and Twitter pages. Please continue to monitor schedule announcements as conditions may change and warrant updating.

Weather conditions sometimes become unfavorable during the day after students have arrived at school. In the event we have to dismiss early, a SchoolMessenger message will be sent to all parents, and local radio and TV stations will make the announcement. Working parents are advised to make arrangements for childcare on days when schools must be dismissed early.
Please check the media sites listed above, call our message line, or visit our website or social sites for weather related information. Please do not call individual schools, the central administrative office, or the news media for weather closing or delay updates; during these times we want to keep our lines open for other school related communication. We will communicate closings, delays, and early dismissals as quickly as possible. Our primary concern is the safety of children and our staff. Thank you for your continued support!
