To communicate how inclement weather has affected our normal school operation, SchoolMessenger will be used to announce schedule changes to all students and staff. The message will also be available on the DCS Message Line [(336) 753-1797 for English; (336) 753-1798 for Spanish]. The announcement will be posted to the Davie County Schools’ website and on the Davie County Schools’ Facebook and Twitter pages. Local television and radio stations listed below will be notified as well. We will make every reasonable effort to make an announcement by 6:00 a.m. to all students and staff. Please continue to monitor schedule announcements as conditions may change and warrant updating.
Stations frequently accept messages only through non-voice communication. This makes it very difficult to provide detailed information.
Announcements Regarding the School Operations

Make Up Guidelines for all Employees
If school is closed but it is deemed an Optional Workday, employees who choose to come to school/work are expected to work a full day. If the Superintendent deems that it is unsafe to stay at school/work for the entire day and announces an early dismissal, any employee who has worked up until that time will be compensated for the entire day/shift.
Any employee who chooses not to come to school/work on an optional workday will be expected to either use an annual leave day or make up time at the discretion of their supervisor.
If employees do not make up either 1/2 day or the entire day by a date determined by their supervisor, they will be charged an annual leave day or be given a day without pay.
When making up time, employees should complete a “Make Up Time Sheet” and submit it to their school/financial secretary or payroll department. Make up time should not be logged in Timekeeper.
