After discussions and careful consideration with principals and the Board of Education, a change in the Davie County Schools traditional calendar has been made due to the March for Students and Rally for Respect in Raleigh. There will be NO SCHOOL for students on May 16, 2018, which will become an optional workday for staff on our traditional calendar. There will be no make-up day for students. This decision was made due to the limited availability of substitutes and other staff to safely supervise and effectively instruct students and the daily increase in leave requests over the course of this week.
All employees should report to work on this optional day or request appropriate leave through their supervisor.
Davie County Early College High School students and staff will remain on a regular exam schedule on May 16, 2018.
Advanced Placement testing at Davie County High School will continue as scheduled. If students have any questions or need transportation to take this exam on May 16th, they should contact the school at 751-5905.
School administration and the Board of Education strongly support our teachers and students. While a calendar change at this time of year is not desired, it has become necessary under the circumstances.
For questions regarding this change in schedule, please contact the DCS Administrative Office at 751-5921. We appreciate your continued support of Davie County Schools.
