BOE Approves New Principal for South Davie Middle School - August 19, 2013

At the August 19, 2013 special called meeting of the Davie County Board of Education, Dr. David Snapp was approved as the new principal of South Davie Middle School. Dr. Snapp has served as the Director of Student Assignment for Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools since 2009, an administrative role he was assigned after several successful years working in middle school.  Snapp has served as a middle school music teacher and led a middle school music magnet program. He has also served as a high school band director. In his role as Director of Student Assignment, he has been part of numerous projects across the school district, from growth and population projection, to student services, transportation, child nutrition, alternative programs, graduation initiatives, and the development of magnet programs.  Dr. Snapp earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and earned administrative licensure through Appalachian State University. He recently completed a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from GardnerWebb University. He is married to Melissa, his wife of six years, who serves as a private practice counselor. Dr. Snapp and Melissa have two boys; David, who is 2 ½, and Lucas just turned six 
months old.
